We believe this work will make a meaningful impact on [target audience, such as students in a specific major or a unique local community] and contribute to a broader goal on our campus: [a mutual core value of both your project and your grantor's organization].
We created [Project Name] because [explain the program or gap in more detail]. Over the past [two weeks or one year, etc.], I/we have [list key steps completed so far, including forming a team, building a prototype, partnering with mentors or other organizations, conducted surveys about specific problem or gap]. Our team includes [names and roles, or "a group of students with backgrounds in..."], and we are committed to using our skills in [majors or special skills] to facilitate [three impacts of the project].
Our project relies on collaboration, and we are actively working with [list any partners, mentors, student orgs, departments, or community organizations] to ensure that the project is appropriately fulfilling [mission statement]. For example, [brief description of a key collaboration, experiment, or consultation and how it shaped an aspect of your project]. We’ve already received feedback from [name or description of faculty, advisors, or student organizations] that this aspect of our project will successfully address [a small aspect of the larger specific problem or gap you previously identified].
This funding will allow us to [clear, one-sentence description of what the funding will make possible, such as offer events for free, pay collaborators, or buy necessary equipment]. We are requesting [$ amount] to fund [list of what funding will be used for, such as materials, software, event rentals, or payments to independent contractors]. Our full budget includes [$ amount] for [item], [$ amount] for [item], and [$ amount] for [item] as quoted by [source for price of each item or service].
We plan to share the results of this work through [website, social media, a campus event, a published resource, a performance, a screening, etc.] and its impacts will be far-reaching. Following the end of this project, we will [state future goals, such as evolve into a larger initiative that reaches a new target audience, inform policy, increase access to an activity, or increase interest in a type of research].
Thank you for considering support for [Project Name]. As students, we are eager to lead a project that facilitates [core value of the grantor's organization]. With your support, we can [restate mission] and help [target audience] achieve [three impacts of the project].
